The Business – Trainee Recruitment Consultant

This boutique agency was founded in 2017 and has quickly grown to a well-known firm across the UK and the US. They have an office in the heart of London and are looking at opening another office in Austin in the US. The desks that are looking at growing are within trading technology and data, which both have a huge amount of money in. The average base salaries that you’ll work on are £100k-£150k, meaning the commission you will see is excellent (all consultants have earned over £50k in their first year).

The Benefits – Trainee Recruitment Consultant

• Starting salary of £27k, rising to £30k after your first promotion (usually takes between 6-9 months)
• Fast-tracked career progression with a clear pathway to get to Managing Consultant (around 2 years) and Associate Director (around 4 years)
• Uncapped earning potential, with a commission structure scaling to 45% and a 5% team override when you get to manager

The Role – Trainee Recruitment Consultant

• Winning new clients through business development and learning what their offering is and what their hiring priorities are
• Sourcing the best talent for your clients through headhunting top individuals within their space
• Interviewing candidates and managing the interview process, whilst ensuring you are advising and consulting on market conditions
• Negotiating the best contract on behalf on your candidate: e.g., salary, additional benefits, responsibilities, role, title etc.
• Consistently working towards hitting individual and team targets, as well as following up on any business leads

Ideal Candidate – Trainee Recruitment Consultant

• Good academic background with either a 2:1 from University, OR 6+ months experience working in a direct sales role
• Go-getter: ideally you would have been involved in extra-curriculars and/or work alongside education
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Financial drive to earn over a base salary
• Resilient and able to bounce back from failure and rejection
