The Company – Trainee Recruitment Consultant
This firm are specialists within the FinTech space. They place the likes of Software Engineers, Tech Trading specialists, and CTOs into financial firms across the globe. They started out in 2008 with a single office in London and have quickly grown to a business of over 80 heads across London, Chicago, and Asia.
The management team is made up of 13 consultants who all joined the business as trainees, demonstrating just how good the progression is, with one consultant hitting their Associate Director target within just 5 years at the company. The Benefits – Trainee Recruitment Consultant
- Starting salary of £28k which rises with each promotion
- Transparent progression, seeing your first promotion within 6-12 months, and the ability to hit your AD title within 5-8 years at the business
- Uncapped commission structure rising to 40% – 90% of consultants earn over £50k within their first year, with some even achieving £70k
- Training over your first 6 months consists of classroom sessions with an inhouse trainer, as well as shadowing of the founders of the business
- 2 holiday incentives every year – including a skiing holiday over Easter, and a beach holiday in the Summer
- Company laptop provided, as well as phone bills covered
- Regular team trips, including Ascot, Wimbledon, Michelin Star meals, theatre outings, and so much more
- Monthly competitions with lots of prizes to be won – including half days on a Friday, ASOS vouchers, free Deliveroo lunches etc.
- 1 day per week to work from home

The Role – Trainee Recruitment Consultant
- Building up your client base through business development
- Meeting with your clients on a regular basis and understanding their offering and what their hiring requirements are
- Sourcing candidates through Headhunting, Advertising, Networking, and using the company’s existing Database
- Interviewing candidates, shortlisting them for clients, preparing them for interviews, and then managing the overall interview process
- Negotiating the best package for your candidates (salary, added bonuses, start date, etc.)
- Following up on any business leads and speaking with your network on a regular basis
The Ideal Candidate – Trainee Recruitment Consultant
- Ideally you will have some experience working in a sales or client facing role
- Success within academia, either with strong A-levels or a degree in any discipline
- Confident speaking with a range of individuals, including stakeholders
- Financially driven and looking to earn well above your basic salary
- Ambitious and wanting to build a long-term career for yourself
- Naturally competitive, demonstrated through any events such as sport, debate, etc.
