What is the Role? – Graduate Recruitment Consultant
Recruitment is essentially a sales role – you are selling people to people (professional matchmaking if you will).
As a recruitment consultant your role is split into two parts: Business development and candidate sourcing.
Business Development
- Cold calling potential new clients
- Building and maintaining relationships
- Going to client meetings to keep up to date on hiring criteria
Candidate Sourcing
- Headhunting, Advertising, Networking, Database
- Screening CV’s
- Interviewing candidates
- Prepping candidates for interviews
Throughout the process you will act as the ‘middleman’, navigating the process and ensuring both sides know who they are seeing and when, and then gathering feedback from your client and candidate. When an offer is put on the table it is then your responsibility to negotiate the best deal for your candidate.

Our clients were founded in 2005 and are now one of the leading recruitment agencies in the finance sector. The top biller of the company has billed well over £700k, and others billing up to £400k. Most of the employees were taken on as recent graduates, with one person seeing his second promotion in record-breaking time and is now on track to earn £150k after just 2.5 years at the company. There are hopes to expand the business, with plans to open a New York office, and more than double the number of employees in the London office.
