Unlike many recruitment firms, this business places huge value on face-to-face relationship building. Consultants regularly meet with Lawyers, Partners, and Law Firms in person, helping you quickly build credibility, commercial awareness, and market expertise. Several consultants have earned over £100K in their first year, with average first-year earnings typically ranging between £50K–£60K.
The Role – Trainee Recruitment Consultant
As a Trainee Recruitment Consultant, you will receive hands-on training and mentorship from the Partners of the business while building your own specialist legal recruitment desk.
Responsibilities include:
- Business development to win new law firm clients and expand existing relationships
- Meeting with clients to understand hiring needs, growth plans, and market positioning
- Sourcing high-calibre legal professionals through headhunting, LinkedIn, referrals, and networking
- Interviewing candidates and managing the recruitment process from shortlist to placement
- Preparing candidates for interviews and managing offer negotiations
- Advising clients and candidates on legal market trends, salary benchmarking, and hiring strategy
- Building your personal brand online through market insights and industry content
- Developing long-term relationships with Lawyers, Partners, and leading Law Firms

Requirements

You should have:
- A 2:1 degree or above in any discipline
- Experience in a customer-facing, client-facing, sales, hospitality, or commercial role
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills

- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
